This Week

I think I watch far to many things and don't do as much reading as I think I should. Amway, I watched Stan and Ollie last weekend. During my lunch break on Monday we watched Wallace and Gromit I saw a lot of Ollie in Gromit there was one sequence in particular that brought it home to me. Which when I saw this from Hilary on Tuesday made me think and it made me think about the upsides and the downsides and who it would be a lovely thing to do, so I’m adding it hear as a reminder.

A caption inextricably long way away from a picture of a link to Hilary Cottam’s tweet about her imagionation of a gathering of public leaders talking about ways they have deepend the work of their predecessors.

Next week I’m going to have a sorting out. I can feel it’s been brewing. I’m just off to get the whiteboard… back in a tick. Just moving all those posits behind me helps. I must not take over the whole house…

Preperation for the Wellbeing Day next week seems to be going well. Beth and Becky are equally superb.

Hang on — Eloise wants the board back, nope she’s (brought me pens) nope they just went again and so did she. I’ll miss her next week.

Where was I. Wellbeing the report from the Wellbeing Tracker has sparked of further thinking as to how we support people in the programme are feeling bad. Interesting and important work, particully as we go through a cycle of change.

Following a chat with Fiona who joined us this week, I’ve added reflecting to the initial sketch of what I’m up too — I’ll think I’ll draw this up on the whiteboard next week.

I had a chat with Janet about leadership for the course she is on which sounds wonderful. I also learned not to open up MS Teams and then give quickly back into email. Janet’s hearty hello made me jump.

I had lots of lovely chats again this week. Lots of thinking about things with people in the programme and beyond, it’s funny what being open can do.

I sent out an invite for a meeting that runs till the last full week in May today. With this text — That Mirren and Jessica both helped finesse. The invite is called Sink and Tap, we’ll see how it goes.

Hi,

I’ve been having a ponder about how we can create informal spaces for the Programme while we’re all working online. Places where you can head if you want to hear tales of people’s days and discuss the weather, where you can wash mugs together and get a fresh glass of water. All those sorts of things and more.

So this is a space for just that. It will sit in your calendar as an all-day appointment, every day until the last week in May (if we find it valuable we can extend it, if it’s not we can stop it sooner). There is no expectation on ever using the sink or refilling your glass, but you’re welcome to pop over if you fancy it. You might like to find a buddy and start going to the sink and tap with people at a regular slot.

“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it.” — Lao Tzu

Getting the most from your time at the Sink and Tap:

If you’re first, please start the meeting

Be kind and listen more than you talk

Try chatting to different people

If you’re last, wring out the cloth and hang it up
