It’s been a year since I’ve been in Future Farming and Countryside Programme, I think I need to reflect on that separately some where, maybe.
I have a cold. No it’s not Covid and it is a cold. On Saturday last week I thought I had Covid in the morning, I was very lethargic then I remembered I had a glass of shandy the night before… oh David. So far this cold is a sore throat (que lots of cups of decaf-tea) and now today a runny nose type. And it started on Wednesday.
This week has been much calmer than last, I won’t have coped if it wasn’t. In the first meeting of Project X Emma said that the Project was going to take up most if not all of our days. Que both excitement and thinking about what I stop. The thing I stopped was getting involved in the next round of keeping the conversation going for FFaB and I wont pick up other things outside of the Programme for a while.
Today I managed to hold it enough together to write up the group user research sessions that I did last week, I had hoped to do it yesterday or Wednesday but to many things and to little energy to get through it all then — still it’s done. I just have notes form the reflections of past schemes to write up. We did another one of those sessions this week. Though it’s not just with me to do — and Amy as popped her notes in. I also have a note about Project Y to do… hang on going to do that Now or I’ll forget what Charles and I discussed.
Right done. Other things that happened this week. Met with Al to talk about Together Day we have the options back form Claders and it looks like we might be off to Pavilions of Harrogate we’ve asked Janet for outline approval before we progress to interal comms and raising a purchase order. Al is going to have a think about all the things we could need to do.
I think were all set for Wellbeing Day on Monday.
Charlie held the ring on the first 16 Days of Activism session on changing the narrative — it was a really good conversation, touching and hard but also really practical. Beth recommended this book Everyday Sexism by Laura Bates I shall add to to my list.
I’ve thought of another word for change, transformation, modernisation and reform in government, as I don’t really like any of those — contemporising I don’t really like that word either but I thought I’d make a note.
I have done 2 things of my UKGovCamp list — we now have a burner phone (I pray the sim is still active when it comes to Jan — if not I’ll need to get a new one). And I had a chat with Graham about Design, we have quotes.
There were as ever lots of other lovely chats this week. It was very nice to see Sam again.
